Technology Facilitated Sexual Violence

What is TFSV?

Technology-Facilitated Sexual Violence (TFSV) encompasses a range of harmful behaviors that occur through digital platforms and technologies. It includes online harassment, cyberstalking, non-consensual sharing of intimate images, sexual extortion, and digital coercion. Perpetrators use technology to intimidate, control, or exploit their victims, causing significant emotional, psychological, and sometimes physical harm. TFSV exploits the anonymity and reach of digital communication, making it a pervasive and challenging issue to address. Understanding TFSV requires examining the intersection of technology, psychology, and social behavior to develop effective prevention and intervention strategies.

My current research on Technology-Facilitated Sexual Violence (TFSV) focuses on the investigative aspects and offender profiling. I examine online harassment, cyberstalking, non-consensual image sharing, and digital coercion to understand the behaviors and patterns of perpetrators. This work aims to enhance law enforcement techniques, develop offender profiles, and improve prevention strategies.
